A drive 20 minutes North from Durban along the coastal N2 highway leads you to the Tinley Manor Beach off-ramp.   Leave behind the bustle of development at the new international airport, Ballito and Sheffield Beach and turn into Tinley Manor—right under the freeway bridge and less than 2kms to the beach the cottages which are less than a minute’s walk into the sea!

Khulu’s Cottage is adjacent to the quaint and yet exclusive village of Tinley Manor, around the corner with access via a private road, ensuring exclusive private beach enjoyment.   The Umhlali Ski-Boat Club is nearby (just below the cottage) and the limited membership numbers do not impede the privacy of our accommodation.   The enjoyment of watching early morning beach launches and boats arriving home after a good day’s fishing, add to the tranquil ambience of a genuine beach holiday.

Pristine, indigenous coastal forest lines the drive to the cottage entrance and is a hideaway for many species of birds, the Mongoose and even some buck.   Be watchful of the odd Vervet monkey anxious to show off its antics!

Fishing is exciting here while Mussel picking and Crayfish collecting add to the Seafood platter—that is when one is not frequenting the exclusive and famous Impulse Curry Restaurant (acknowledged in discerning dining magazines) conveniently housed just around the corner.   For those too lazy and relaxed to cook breakfast, tea or lunches—Paul will welcome you to the Impulse Coffee Bar where he serves his patriotically-honouring Austrian dishes.
